The only bad thing about this sunscreen is the greasy feeling mentioned in the other reviews. Fantastic if you are a water person. We are from Wisconsin and very fair; we wore this everyday in Kauai on our Honeymoon and spent hours in the water snorkeling without getting burned. Truly remarkable and it is reef safe!

I have had good luck with this sunscreen. This product claims to cover a broader UV spectrum than most sunscreens. I have fair skin, and used this product in Florida this past spring and did not get burned.
As the other review stated, this is a thick sunscreen, and it starts off feeling greasy. The trick is that very little of the product is needed to be effective. Before rubbing onto the skin, this sunscreen must first be warmed and softened by spreading it between your fingers on both hands. If this isn't done, the product spreads very poorly, and you will go through a lot of it very quickly. As the manufacturer states, only the thinest layer of sunscreen is needed to block UV rays. It's thickness also keeps it from washing away from sweat or swimming. It has a consistency similar to hair styling mud; I did not find it unpleasant or overly greasy. I have actually used it as hair styling mud, which works quite well.
Although I did not suffer any breakouts (and I'm prone to them) I could see that happening with some people. The company claims the product does not cause breakouts, but if you have problems you may wish to use a separate product on your face or other sensitive areas.

First, let me say, I really wanted to like this sunscreen since it's natural and is supposed to be better for both me and the environment.
I put the sunscreen on about 45 minutes before I got in the sun (the instructions say 30 minutes). I read the other reviews here so I knew it would be thick. I took the time to warm it up in my hands first and i didn't put much on as those reviews suggested. It was still really greasy and oily. So much so, that 2 hours later when I leaned my arm against a printed booklet, the ink came off on my arm. (No one else with me had this problem, so I do blame it on the layer of grease on my arms.) After about an hour, the sunscreen got into my right eye and caused it to sting and water for the rest of the day. I find this is a common problem with greasy sunscreens (they don't stay put).
As for my skin, I got a burned after spending 2 hours walking through gardens and woods (about half the time in shade and half in direct sun). Although my burn wasn't too bad, I can't imagine how bad the burn would have been if it'd been in the full sun of the beach or the reflected sun of a boat.
I gave this 2 stars because it is natural and better for your skin, and it did protect my skin somewhat. But I took away 3 stars for the excessive greasiness and the short amount of time it worked. I'll go back to using Aveeno.
